Baby Kay's 1st Birthday Cake

This birthday cake was for my friend, who waited two boys and 6 years for her little girl. Her only request was that it be a girly girl cake, so I threw everything girl on it I could muster. For Kay, I made the inside colorful, because who doesn't love surprises? :o)

This is a white cake, covered in vanilla buttercream frosting.

The St. Patrick's Day Cake

This was a farewell cake for a kid headed off to Air Force boot camp after his big St. Patrick's Day party. It was chocolate and vanilla cake, with vanilla buttercream, and decorated with chocolate shamrocks.

The Escalade Cake

This cake was vanilla, with a fresh strawberry pie filling, covered in vanilla buttercream and fondant. This cake was the first car-off-the-board cake I'd made, and came with some challenges. Having done one now, I know what I would do differently!! (bigger wheels, inset, different mounting, etc) So so many mistakes.

Thank goodness the client who got this cake has ordered from me before - so she knows I can do better!!

Star Dragon Birthday Cake

I decorated this cake for a friend - she baked a yellow cake in a star shape and brought it over with some red candies and lots of candles to decorate the cake. So fun! This was decorated in white frosting and candies with a fondant dragon.

These were sugar-free chocolate cake, topped with sugar-free vanilla frosting. I definitely have some science to explore concerning sugar-free cakes!!! These were not as good as I wanted them to be. But they were pretty!

Superman Birthday Party Cake (and Cupcakes)

This was a birthday cake for my son's birthday party - his first big deal party, at Chuck-E-Cheese, with friends from his school and everything! This was a chocolate cake (his favorite), with mountains of vanilla buttercream frosting (the only reason he really likes cake anyways), topped off with fondant details.

"Patricia is wonderfully clever, and does really cute cakes. I asked her to make a birthday cake for my son, who is a phlebotomist in a hospital. The realistic arm she created looked ready to have its blood drawn, clenched fist and band on the upper arm and all, and she finished the scene with the appropriate gauze and band aids and a syringe, all out of fondant of course. Perhaps this particular cake is not your style :) , but it was a huge hit with my son and his friends. They were especially impressed when they cut into it and saw layered flesh-toned and blood-red cakes -- Patricia thinks of everything!
